Alan Carter, Video Director for NBC’s The Voice will be joining us for the SOTA Live Video seminar. This will be a two-day seminar and packed with professional insight, practical practices, and hands-on training!
For the past 13 years, Alan has been one of the premiere “live” directors in television. From specials such as The Screen Actors Guild Awards, The People’s Choice Awards, The CMT Music Awards and Miss America to the highly successful primetime reality series, The Voice. The Voice, currently in its 12th season, is the most popular live competition show in America and Alan has directed every episode. He has also directed some of the most popular Primetime game shows in history with 65 episodes of Deal Or No Deal and 80 episodes of Minute To Win It.
A two-time Emmy winner, he picked up his first gold statue as an editor in 1994 for his work on David Copperfield’s 15 Years of Magic on CBS. Alan’s extensive background as an editor garnered him many honors and awards, especially for his work in the music video genre. Alan’s regular music video clients included Phil Collins, Whitney Houston, Aerosmith and Michael Jackson. His second Emmy came for directing The Walt Disney World Christmas Parade. This was one of Alan’s first directing jobs.
